Dragons Team Unity Visit Radio Verulam 92.6FM
On the morning of Thursday 7th December, two members of the STAGS Dragons Apprentice ‘Team Unity ‘were interviewed on Radio Verulam Studios about their past and future charity events. Students in Year 12, Natasha Peiris and Nicola Clarke, gave us their account of the media experience:
We were interviewed on the Radio Verulam 92.6FM as part of a bid to raise awareness of our fund raising events arranged with our Charity Partner, Small Acts of Kindness (a charity who sources and distributes gifts to older people in the community who are cold or lonely). We were very excited to be on the radio live, but also rather nervous! However, presenters Kerry Cobb, Lady Jen and Nick Hazell were very welcoming and quickly put us at ease.
Nick led our interview and entertained us with his comments. We talked about the launch of our online shop where people can purchase hoodies and other gifts available: teamunity.org.uk. In addition, we also promoted our next fund raising event which is on 21st December at ‘The Community Chalet’, in St Albans Christmas Market, 11am-8pm. We will be wrapping gifts in return for donations, and selling items with the ‘Small Acts of Kindness’ logo on them. There will also be forms to allow you to nominate an older person who you think would like to receive a gift bag. Please come and visit us if you can. Many thanks to Radio Verluam for giving us the opportunity to help us promote our charity events and for making sure we had a fun experience.
