GET FIT WEEK 2018
Last week saw the return of Get Fit Week, a week full of physical activities to encourage students to get moving; to get fit; to try something new and have fun!
As part of their Feeling Good Week, CAMHS agreed that Get Fit Week at STAGS is so important that it should receive some funding to help it run. As a result I was able to invite in a variety of fitness professionals to visit our school and lead the sessions.
Students across all year groups were given the opportunity to participate in a range of activities including pound, diva fit, pilates and ballet. On Wednesday the sports hall was transformed into a huge Clubbercise disco with lights, glowsticks and great music creating an amazing exercise atmosphere.
Busy schedules often get in the way of exercise so KS4 and KS5 students had Get Fit Week brought to them in lessons. Year 10 were treated to a body attack session whilst Year 11 had an all over body workout with Year 12 enjoying a body combat session.
Those who came with or without their friends tried something new and perhaps took a risk stepping outside of their comfort zone – well done for getting involved.
Fitness is not about being better than someone else…
Its about being better than you used to be.
