STAGS Students Achieve Consistently High Scores at Grassroots Dressage Championships
On Sunday 2nd July Year 7 student Olivia Taylor and Ruth Quillin-Creamer pupil in Year 9 proudly represented South Herts and West Middlesex Pony Club at the Grassroots Regional Dressage Championships. The two skilled STAGS students where part of a team of four disciplined riders who worked well together to achieve success. Parent Helen Quillin-Creamer kindly gives us her account of the day:
“It was a glorious sunny day and the Thame show ground in Oxfordshire made a colourful spectacle with hundreds of competitors from around the region. The Grassroots Championship was contested by 24 teams with dozens of competitors riding in four arenas. The South Herts and West Middlesex Pony Club team achieved consist-ently high scores and were rewarded with second place overall.”
This is a big result and Olivia and Ruth were both thrilled to be part of such a successful team. They will now go forward further and represent their Pony Club in the next stage of the competition with all those who have also qualified from other areas.
The talented riders wish to thank their international rider & coach Joanna Henbury for all her help and encouragement. Special thanks also go to team mates Aidan Morris and Sofia DeBrito who make up the other half of the fantastic four. Congratulations to you all and STAGS community wish you continued success in the next pony club event which takes place in September.
