Year 12 Students Welcome 60 Senior Citizens to Special Christmas Tea Party

partyYear 12 students welcomed over 60 senior citizens to the annual Christmas Party in the main hall on Thursday afternoon, 14th December. Entertainment was provided by the students across all year groups with singing, dancing and instrumental pieces. The food included nibbles, hot drinks, scones and amazing show stopper cakes from students who entered the STAGS Bake Off competition. Towards the end of the afternoon, there was even a surprise visit by Santa (AKA Mr Reason, Maths Teacher) who gave all the guests a special Christmas present! Year 12 student Lauren Moss said ‘It was really lovely to see the senior citizens enjoying themselves and having fun because I think they get lonely at this time of year, even those in care homes. They were very grateful and at the end, they gave us lots of hugs’.
Many thanks go to all the Year 12 Charity Captains, Mr Reason for being Santa, Mrs Wheatley for managing the dance programme, Ms Glover who orchestrated the musical entertainment and main organisers Miss Cripps, Post 16 Director of Learning and Miss McHugh, Assistant Head who ensured the event ran very smoothly.
