On Wednesday 4th July, ten Year 9 students, who have chosen GCSE Music as one of their subject choices for the next school year, visited Garden Fields Primary School to take part in an instrumental and vocal workshop with two separate Year 5 classes. Led by Miss Glover, students actively took small groups of children and taught them ostinato vocal lines, which they played each melody on their chosen solo performance instrument. This allowed the ten students to experience ensemble music-making within a new environment. We all agreed that at the end of the two sessions, we needed a rest! A short walk home was just what we needed.
