Lucy Jordan-Caws Represents Great Britain

In early July, I represented Great Britain in the European Deaf Swimming Championships, which took place in Lublin, Poland. During the six days, I competed in six individual events—50m  butterfly, 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly, 200m Individual Medley, 400m Individual  Medley and the 50m backstroke—plus the butterfly leg of the  women's 4x100m Medley Relay. I achieved personal bests for each of my races during the week, therefore proving that my training has paid off! The main highlights of the week were coming 5th in the 200m butterfly and 8th in the 50m butterfly. These results were outstanding for a first timer at an international competition! It was an amazing    experience and I was definitely inspired by the older swimmers to improve my training in the coming months and years. The next step of my swimming journey is the World Deaf Swimming Championships in 2019, which will be in Brazil. To secure a place on the GB squad, I will have to meet the criteria set by the GB deaf swimming coach, which I will continue to train hard for!
