Social Media Safety

Stay Safe Online
On Wednesday 20th March, Year 7’s attended a Social Media Event in the hall, run by myself and Police Community Support Officer Russo, teaching students about the importance of staying safe online. I hope they found it useful, and gave them some important tips for keeping safe while online.
Susan Yu 7J said the following about the event:
‘The social media event was a really good experience. I think it was really important to raise awareness of how dangerous it can be online. It included a lot of information on how to stay safe on social media, making sure that you don't give away any personal information. Year 8 gave us an assembly recently which was thought provoking, it's important that the things you see online shouldn't make you upset or depressed in any way. If you follow someone online that posts things that makes you feel uncomfortable or upset, it's best to unfollow them or it could seriously affect how you feel about yourself and your body image.’
