Students make wallaby pouches to send to Ausralia

Wallaby Pouches for Australia
Eco Reps and students have been keeping a close eye on events in Australia regarding the bushfires and the resulting human and ecological crisis. Concerned particularly by the massive impact on the forest habitat and animals where estimates are that one billion have been killed or injured, they were keen to do something to help. Year 9's under the guidance of Mrs Draper and Ms Adamson made 60 hanging wallaby pouches for orphaned or injured marsupials which have been taken to a local hub for transport and distribution.
On Friday, all Eco Reps collected coins for koalas from each of their forms which were made into a visual koala to raise funds for the WWF and WIRES, which are supporting the rescue and protection of animal and bird species. More events to raise funds are being planned by individual forms, so well done everyone on a collective effort.
