Year 7 Football News

The Year 7 Football Team moved into the last 64 in the country with a crushing 10-0 defeat of Wanstead High School in the National Cup. Our visitors from Essex were dominated throughout the match by fast and intelligent play from the STAGS team. The ball was moved quickly to wings with attacks coming down by sides. At half term the score was 5-0 and the endless pressure continued into the second half. Sadly for Wanstead, when they did get an opportunity to attack they were swiftly stopped by the solid STAGS defence of Emilia Kapuscinska 7A, Joyce Odunayo 7A, Ella Griffiths 7A and Teagan Thomas 7P or by Morgan Kirital 7J who produced two excellent saves in goal. This meant our attackers could attack with confidence. Our goal scorers were India Thomas 7A with five, Scarlett Robb 7C with three, Teagan Scarlett 7S with one and Lucille Lovell 7H with one. The girls will be off to Brentwood next week to try and move into the last 32 in the country. Football practice continues Thursday lunchtime on the field.
