Year 13 Student Nabilla Exhibits work

Year 13

Hi I’m Nabilla and I am a Year 13 Art student at STAGS. I have recently had the privilege of having my    artwork be put in the assembly room of the St Albans museum. The portrait is an interpretation based on a variety of artists such as Nathan Ford and Lucian Freud, combining both realist and expressive styles. The piece is a painting of one of my close friends and is derived from the title of my overall project, ‘Sonder’ - the realisation that people have lives as busy and complex as our own. I chose this topic as it is one I feel we experience on a daily basis, and therefore is a title I personally relate to. The exhibition in question is the 7th Annual Schools Art Exhibition to be held in the St Albans gallery, and hosts many    pieces from 14 schools all over St Albans City and District. It has been a very exciting experience to have been chosen to represent STAGS with my art and I am glad to be able to write about such an event here too.

It was a privilege to witness Nabilla's artwork displayed so prominently in the City Centre, we are all really proud of her and her beautiful work. The exhibition was a fantastic display of the amazing talent of the young people in St Albans and surrounding areas. We look forward to showcasing more of our students phenomenal work in the future!
