The Soup That Saves

Week One of ‘The soup that saves’ has been completed and we raised £42 for the ‘Disasters Emergency Committee’ (DEC). The DEC brings 13 leading UK aid charities together in times of crisis. They launch appeals to raise money to help those impacted by disaster, making sure that funds reach those that need them most. Appeals currently running include; the starvation crisis in East Africa and the current genocide taking place in Myanmar upon the Rohingya people. Your help and support during the Lenten period could mean so much to so many people around the world; to put it into context £30 will provide emergency accommodation for one family, £50 could provide up to ten families with hygiene essentials and £100 could provide two families with food for a month.
Please show your support and help us reach our target of £500 by giving your daughter/son £1 for a soup and roll on a Thursday lunchtime in the canopies. Special thanks goes to Year 11 REP GCSE students who volunteered their time to help this week.
