St Albans Girls' School

Under 18 Rugby Tournament

On Friday 26th October, our Year 11 Rugby Team competed in a tournament against other schools. As a team, we felt the tournament was a great opportunity to improve our individual and teamwork skills as well as   building our confidence, especially in regards to tackling!

Throughout the matches, we were all faced with challenges; however, we tried our upmost to work out    solutions to them whilst maintaining a high level of moral. Our team was able to be versatile, positive and resilient during the whole tournament, allowing us to go into every game with the same mindset: 'we want to win'.  Additionally, although some members of our team experienced a few minor injuries, our supportive and 'can-do' attitude meant we adapted to these circumstances whilst our teammate rested and recovered.

Overall, the tournament was an exciting, fun and challenging experience that has improved our connection as a team and increased our own confidence and team confidence going into future games. We'd like to say thank you to Mrs Pennock for being a great coach and for always making rugby trips so enjoyable.

Anna Lofts, 11H
