Curriculum Enrichment Week 2019

In July each year, STAGS takes all students off timetable for one week to enable them to participate in a variety of enrichment activities. This will be taking place from Monday 8 July to Friday 12 July 2019.  The activities and approximate costs for the week for each year group are below, to enable families to budget for these costs.

YEAR 7
Approximate cost of the week is £40.00
All students will be taking part in:
Brilliant Books with the English Department, a Medieval Day with the History Department, a visit to      Whipsnade Zoo with the Science Department, a Hindu Temple Experience with the REP Department and Work Shadowing Day organised by students/parents.

YEAR 8
Approximate cost of the week is £55.00
All students will be taking part in:
A visit to Kew Gardens with the ADT and Geography Departments, the STEM Water Challenge with the  Science Department, Creative Cakes with the ADT department, attending the HOAC Outdoor Challenge Centre with the PE Department and the Play in a Day with the Drama, English and Music Departments.

YEAR 9
Approximate Cost is £50- £60, depending on which activities your daughter takes part in. Gateway      payments will be organised so that you only pay for the activities that your daughter will be taking part in.
All students will be taking part in:
A Cultural Day learning about Japan with the REP Department,  the Play in a Day with the Drama, English and Music Departments a visit to the hit West End Show Everybody’s Talking about Jamie with the Dance Department, being a Sixth Former for a Day with the Sixth Form Team. On the Friday some students will be taking part in either Battlefields Tour (paid for separately) or Poetry Day with Professor Pango Mango and the English Department (for students not attending the Battlefields Tour).

YEAR 10
The approximate cost varies from £30 to £95, depending upon the subjects that your daughter is         studying. Gateway payments will be organised so that you only pay for the activities that your daughter will be taking part in.
Students will be taking part in:
Visit to Madrid with the MFL Department (this has been paid for separately), a visit to Bletchley Park with the Maths Department (for students not in Madrid), a visit to Harry Potter Studios (a GCSE course related trip so this is for students of GCSE Media Studies only), the Masterchef Challenge (for students not in  Madrid or studying GCSE Media Studies), a Tour of the Land Rover or Jaguar Factory (a GCSE course related trip so this is for Business students only), an Employability Day with Young Enterprise (for students who do not study GCSE Business), a visit to the National Space Centre with the Science Department (for the whole year group) and a Work Shadowing Day organised by students/parents (for the whole year group).

YEAR 12
No cost is involved as Year 12 students will be using this week for student organised Work Experience.

Final costs of the week will be sent out in January 2019 and the final payment will be due on Friday, 5 April 2019.
