STAGS Young Reporters find their Voice

This week, our students took part in the ‘BBC Young Reporter’ festival, a nationwide initiative                coordinated by the BBC to encourage careers in journalism. The BBC are interested to hear the stories that young people are talking about; what is going on in our school and our local community and their views and development of ideas linked to stories in the wider news agenda.

Students were encouraged to produce reports about subjects that mattered to them and invited to submit stories directly to the BBC using social media feeds: @bbcyoungreport,  #BBCYoungReporter and #SchoolStories.

Our Young Reporters responded to the brief with great eagerness, interest and passion to showcase ideas about mental health and wellbeing, the importance of personal hygiene and the importance of school uniform. Copies of reports produced by students will be made available on our school website when we have received all the necessary consent from parents and carers.
