STAGS Rotary Interact Club Plant Crocus for ‘Purple for Polio Campaign’

Well done to all the members of STAGS Rotary Interact Club who got together with Mentor Youth Ken Scott, Lavinia Hale to plant crocus on Wednesday 1st November. In total the girls managed to plant over 800 crocus bulbs which was amazing! Student
Munthaha Ahmed said ‘I think it’s a great thing to do, we are leaving a legacy for future generations at STAGS.’
We look forward to
watching a wonderful sea of deep purple emerge on the STAGS front lawn in the Spring. Earlier this year STAGS raised £705 for the Rotary ‘End Polio Now’ campaign which was tripled by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This was a magnificent contribution to this worldwide campaign.
Many thanks to the Rotary club for providing bulbs and gardening tools. We also would like to thank Maths Teacher Mrs Rock who continues to inspire and motivate club members with every project. The clubs next event will be the St Albans fireworks display in Verulanium Park this Saturday 4th November. We wish them well with their continuing fund raising activities.
