Form Tutor Review Day
'It was really fantastic to hear how my daughter was getting on in all aspects of school life and so pleased to see the positive relationship between her and her Form Tutor. I feel confident that she is well supported and that any issues would be communicated to me quickly. Thank you!'
Year 9 Parent
Every student at St Albans Girls' School is placed in a Form Group with a Form Tutor(s) who sees them everyday. Therefore, Form Tutor Review Day is an invaluable opportunity to meet with the member of staff who sees your son/daughter the most and can give you an update on all aspects of their school life.
Form Tutor Review day takes place in the Autumn Term so that your son/daughter has had a chance to settle into the new year, but so that any issues can be addressed quickly.
Parents will be informed that the day is approaching and students will make an appropriate appointment time with their form tutor. The meeting is 10 minutes long and is intended to be an overview of your son/daughter's progress. Students are not required to attend school on this day, except for their 10 minute appointment. Work or revision will be set for them to complete at home. There is no provision for students to be supervised on site on this day.
Form Tutors will have information about academic progress, attendance, SEN/D needs and support and general information about core subject areas. If you have any queries/concerns about individual subject areas, then it is best to contact the teacher or curriculum leader individually via email. SEN/D Key Workers, Directors of Learning, Head of Key Stage and pastoral staff will also be available on the day. Please let them know in advance if you would like to see any of these staff.
Any issues or queries raised on this day will be followed up by relevant staff and fed back to you.
