Student Leadership
To enable our students to break the glass ceiling we provide opportunities for them to develop their leaderships skills across all year groups.
The Head Students for 2019-2020 are:

Teagan Booker, Poppy Houlihan and Olivia Newby-Ricci
Charity Captains: Safiyyah Bint-sa'd, Alice Drury, Saymah Kiani, Charlotte Hirzinger
Green Leaders: Dina Ahmed, Olivia Newby-Ricci, Kirsty Reed
Social Action Captains: Sophie Bird, Yena Choi, Naomi Herodutu, Mia Thomas
Sports Captains: Laura Gifford, Jess Simpson
Deputy Sports Captain: Annabelle Pigeon
Student Wellbeing Captains: Amelia Furley, Kirsty Reed
Key Leadership Roles
In Years 7-11 each Form Group has:
- A Form Captain and a Vice Form Captain who attend Student Parliament
- A Sports Captain and a Vice Sports Captain
- Two Anti-Bullying Captains
- Two Eco Council representatives
- Two Charity Captains
- Two Careers Captains
In addition to these roles, students in Year 11 can apply to be a School Prefect, students in Year 10 can apply to be a Peer Mentor to provide support for a student in Year 7 or 8, and students in Year 8 can become Peer Mentors to help new students in Year 7 in their first few weeks at St Albans Girls' School.
Year 12 Student Leaders
In Year 12 students have the opportunity to take on a vast array of different leadership opportunities. These include the roles of Head Student, House Captain, Prefects, and Peer Mentors. These students are the key leaders of the student body through their leadership of Student Voice, Eco Council, the House System and a large number of clubs and enrichment activities that are provided for students in the younger year groups.
